St. George Island Pics

Okay, I know I'm way late on posting the pics from our wonderful vacation on St. George Island with the Hopper clan. I could make up an excuse such as I've been waiting for someone (Angie!) to email me the family pic that we took, but that's not really true. Or I could say that Blogger has been difficult lately, which has put me off of posting, but that's only partly true. I'll tell you the truth, and it might shock you.
I've been a bit lazy lately! (Gasp, I know, right?) Anyway, before I go lay out by the pool with the kid I thought I'd post some of the best pictures from the trip. (And by pool, I mean kiddie-sized, plastic wading pool. Not as glamorous as it sounds, eh?)

Elijah got tired of waiting on us to go to the beach.
Nana's beach house, as Elijah calls it.

Fearless boys!
Man overboard! (That's Matthew)

Waiting for Daddy to take him out in the rowboat.

Chilling in the pool. (We did a lot of that.)

Vacation Extravaganza!

We finally returned home yesterday morning after a wonderful vacation in Florida. The weather wasn't the greatest when we first got there, but we made the most of it. If the sun was shining, we were at the beach! By Memorial Day (last Monday) the sun was shining constantly and we were able to soak up as much sun as we wanted. Actually we soaked up a little too much that day, and ended up with a little sunburn. Elijah had the time of his life doing everything fun there is to do in a beach town like Panama City. He rode the carousel and the train at Pier Park. Rode in a go-cart with Daddy and played putt putt.

We started off our vacation with another trip to Turner Field to catch a Brave's game.

We were cold!
First day at the beach, the weather wasn't great, but we didn't mind!
Riding the carousel with Daddy.

Getting ready to go on a train ride with Mommy, we were in the caboose.

Time for some putt putt!

My new favorite picture!

Our little daredevil had to go for a ride in the go carts. This was his most favorite part of the vacation, I'm sure!

Happy Birthday Elijah!!! (Plus party pics)

I can't believe he's three already! He was a little disappointed to find that he has to be much older than three to drive the car. But other then that he's thrilled to be three. We celebrated his birthday on Saturday with all of the grandparents and most of the Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. (we only missed Uncle Cy and Uncle Aaron.)

The theme of his party was, of course, Thomas the tank engine!

All three boys playing trains together.

Baby Jack says, "Brocolli? No thanks!"
Opening presents!

Very excited about one of his presents. (Harvey the crane engine.)

Elijah and his big birthday present, tickets to a Yankees game!

The awesome Thomas cake Daddy made!

Braves Game

We finally took Elijah to his first Braves game last night! We've been wanting to take him for a while now, but last summer ended up being to busy. So last night we went to see the Braves take on the St. Louis Cardinals. Matthew and I both have so many good memories of going to baseball games ever since we were little kids, and it was fun to share this tradition with Elijah.

Of course Elijah was excited from the minute we got in the car to head to Atlanta. And when we actually arrived at Turner Field he was really excited!

Sorry the pics are all out of order! I'm a hurry and blogger hates me!

Elijah Quotes

Since the moment he could string a sentence together, Elijah has always been quite the conversationalist. (Bonus points if you can correctly guess which parent he got that from.) For the most part, I think he speaks quite well. But every now and then he comes up with a very unique phrase that we can't quite explain. Here are a few of our favorites, along with a translation (if necessary).

"It's too reachy" - I can't reach.
"It's not too fit" - It doesn't fit.
"That's not sense" - That doesn't make sense.
"You're/that's bugging me off" - Combo of bugger off and you're bugging me.
"It was just a deal" - He uses this as some sort of explanation. I think he means, it's not a big deal.

Some other favorite quotes that don't require translation.

"Mommy, can I have a snack and a drink and watch cartoons?" He asks me this about a dozen times a day.
"Mommy, you need to chillax." Obviously, that's a combo of chill out and relax. I guess I say that to him too often.
"I'm not tired, my eye just hurts." He always rubs his eyes when he's sleepy, but refuses to admit the reason for it.
"I'm just being a good boy." This is what he says when he's being far to quiet and I call out to him and ask him what he's doing. Somehow I'm always skeptical of this answer.

I know there are more...I'll add them when I remember them!

A quick update

Sorry, I've been slacking again haven't I? It's not that there hasn't been anything interesting going on around here, it's just that I haven't taken the time to sit down and post. So, this past week was a bit crazy. For those of you who haven't heard, Matthew and Elijah were in a fender bender last Thursday which left our car without a back window for the time being. We are currently waiting on the insurance companies to get the ball rolling. Right now we're cruising around with a lovely redneck back window...plastic and duct tape!

Saturday we went to the Hopper's for Angie's birthday and had a great visit. I would be posting pics from the party, but just realized I didn't take any! Oops! (Angie you need to email the ones that were taken with your camera so that I can post them.)

Elijah is still doing preschool four days a week and learning a lot. I'm learning a lot as well, mostly about having patience! He read his first word the other day. It was just "bat" but I still jumped up and down with excitement.

nyway, that's all for now, I'll leave you with a few pictures...

Easter Pictures

Elijah had a fantastic Easter, thank you to everyone who sent him goodies. Between that and the Easter egg hunt at church this morning we have way to much candy in the house! Here are some pics of him all dressed up this morning. Sadly, I didn't get one of the whole family together.

(Sorry I meant to have these up much sooner, but Blogger was not cooperating with me. That is why the pictures are all in goofy order!)
