Elijah got tired of waiting on us to go to the beach.

We finally returned home yesterday morning after a wonderful vacation in Florida. The weather wasn't the greatest when we first got there, but we made the most of it. If the sun was shining, we were at the beach! By Memorial Day (last Monday) the sun was shining constantly and we were able to soak up as much sun as we wanted. Actually we soaked up a little too much that day, and ended up with a little sunburn. Elijah had the time of his life doing everything fun there is to do in a beach town like Panama City. He rode the carousel and the train at Pier Park. Rode in a go-cart with Daddy and played putt putt.
We were cold!
First day at the beach, the weather wasn't great, but we didn't mind!

Since the moment he could string a sentence together, Elijah has always been quite the conversationalist. (Bonus points if you can correctly guess which parent he got that from.) For the most part, I think he speaks quite well. But every now and then he comes up with a very unique phrase that we can't quite explain. Here are a few of our favorites, along with a translation (if necessary).
"It's too reachy" - I can't reach.
"It's not too fit" - It doesn't fit.
"That's not sense" - That doesn't make sense.
"You're/that's bugging me off" - Combo of bugger off and you're bugging me.
"It was just a deal" - He uses this as some sort of explanation. I think he means, it's not a big deal.
Some other favorite quotes that don't require translation.
"Mommy, can I have a snack and a drink and watch cartoons?" He asks me this about a dozen times a day.
"Mommy, you need to chillax." Obviously, that's a combo of chill out and relax. I guess I say that to him too often.
"I'm not tired, my eye just hurts." He always rubs his eyes when he's sleepy, but refuses to admit the reason for it.
"I'm just being a good boy." This is what he says when he's being far to quiet and I call out to him and ask him what he's doing. Somehow I'm always skeptical of this answer.
I know there are more...I'll add them when I remember them!

Sorry, I've been slacking again haven't I? It's not that there hasn't been anything interesting going on around here, it's just that I haven't taken the time to sit down and post. So, this past week was a bit crazy. For those of you who haven't heard, Matthew and Elijah were in a fender bender last Thursday which left our car without a back window for the time being. We are currently waiting on the insurance companies to get the ball rolling. Right now we're cruising around with a lovely redneck back window...plastic and duct tape!

Elijah had a fantastic Easter, thank you to everyone who sent him goodies. Between that and the Easter egg hunt at church this morning we have way to much candy in the house! Here are some pics of him all dressed up this morning. Sadly, I didn't get one of the whole family together.
(Sorry I meant to have these up much sooner, but Blogger was not cooperating with me. That is why the pictures are all in goofy order!)
